We're looking for an Access Coordinator to get people in Red Deer involved with and excited about their community channel, Rogers tv.  This position is actually located at the Rogers tv building in Red Deer.  The address is 4761-62 Street, Red Deer, AB T4N 2R4 and the working hours are 40 hours per week.  

 

What you will do:

  • Reach out to the area’s content creators, cultivating meaningful connections that lead to an increase in relevant local programming for the channel. 

  • Edit 3rd party media utilizing Adobe Premiere, ensuring seamless export and transfer to Master Control.

  • Engage with community members and organizations, informing them about the opportunities available at Rogers tv and explaining how they can get involved.

  • Attract and nurture a diverse and dedicated volunteer team, including high school co-op students and post-secondary interns, ensuring they receive the necessary tools and training to make significant contributions to the station's local programming efforts.

  • Co-ordinate volunteer orientation sessions, training courses, materials and curriculum

  • Collaborate with production staff to crew productions and deliver training.

  • Coordinate and execute community engagement initiatives, including volunteer appreciation events, marketing, and networking events.

  • Help ensure the website and other outreach tools are always up to date.

  • Develop compelling promotional materials to effectively showcase Rogers tv shows, highlight our vibrant volunteer program, and promote access opportunities for local content producers.  

 

What you will bring:

  • Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal, public relations, training and media skills.

  • Solid understanding and ability to use digital media tools and technologies, and the editorial savvy to create timely, engaging content.

  • Ability to recruit, train and lead a diverse team of volunteers.

  • Bold, strategic and creative thinking

  • Independent self-starter who works well with minimal direction

  • An understanding of community television and the production process
