Accounting/Administration Clerk

Shift Auto Group, Eastern Canada’s fastest growing automotive retailer, is seeking an Accounting/Administration Clerk with excellent teamwork skills to join our administrative team. Our company offers a friendly working environment and atmosphere. This role is at our Head Office in Fredericton.

Shift Auto Group is headquartered in Fredericton, New Brunswick and consists of New Car Dealerships (Volvo Cars New Brunswick, Fredericton Mitsubishi) as well as two St. Croix Auto used car dealerships (Fredericton, St. Stephen). Started in 2018, ReCar currently has 5 locations (Fredericton, Saint John, Moncton, Woodstock and Halifax, NS), with additional locations opening this year.

In this role, you will participate in all functional areas of the accounting group and will report to the Controller.

Responsibilities will include:

• Data entry and maintain accurate records of financial transactions.

• Accounts payable, including credit card reconciliation, ensuring accuracy.

• Process payments by cheque or EFT as scheduled. This includes monthly remittances to Provincial government agencies.

• Prepare bank deposits for A/R accounts.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing preparation.

• Maintain filing system of financial materials and records.

• Perform various administrative duties in support of and as assigned by the Controller.

• Act as back-up to answer and manage incoming calls.

Requirements:

• Two years’ experience in an accounting position

• Strong computer skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information

• The ability to work well with others as part of our dynamic team is a must

• Experience with Excel would be an asset

• Experience in a dealership environment is not required, but would be an advantage
