Our expectations

The Accounting Analyst acts as an expert in his/her field. You may be called upon to work in any of the following specializations based on your skillset: costs and Margins, inventory, etc. You will contribute to the preparation and reliability of financial data, reconcile balance sheets and analyses expenses and explains budget variances. In addition, as an Accounting Analyst, you will support the team in the preparation of management reports and analysis.

Your role
  • Post month end accounting journal entries
  • Determine and calculate month end accruals
  • Reconcile Balance sheet accounts and ensure of their accuracy
  • Document and establish accounting reserves and provisions for their area of responsibility
  • Analyze and explain variances vs budget, last year, etc..
  • Work with FP&A, Store and DC operations, and logistics teams to explain variances
  • Balance store and Distribution center inventories at month-end
  • Resolve accounting issues with inventory movement from DC’s and stores
  • Modify item average costs as required
  • Analyze and resolve inventory costing and Margin anomalies
  • Account for In-Transit inventory
  • Obsolescence reserves, write-offs and related Product Lifecycle accounting
  • Responsible for Sales Return and Shrink reserves
  • Supply Chain / Freights costs and accruals
  • DC Cost allocation / capitalization to inventory
  • Over/under true-up calculations and adjustments
  • Provide Support of Landed Cost and ELC vs ALC Analysis
  • Reconcile annual corporate store physical counts

The qualifications we are looking for
  • Bachelor degree business administration, accounting or finance
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • CPA designation, an asset
  • Experience in the retail industry is an asset
  • Mastering Excel, advanced level
  • Experience with accounting systems such as Oracle / EBS, an asset
  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills
  • Ability to establish priorities in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Sense of initiative and rigor
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and multi-stakeholder collaboration skills
