RESPONSIBILITIES

Working in collaboration with the accounting and transportation team, the incumbent of the position will have the following main responsibilities:

  • Process the complete payables cycle by ensuring invoice approval;
  • Verify and reconcile supplier account statements and request missing invoices;
  • Actively participate in month closing;
  • Prepare checks and electronic payments for suppliers and ensure their approval by designated persons;
  • Prepare end-of-year file documents for external audit;
  • Support the various internal departments to carry out re-invoicing;
  • Prepare and update various analysis tables;
  • Management of expense accounts;
  • Participation in improving accounting processes with Business Central software, internal client system and other systems related to accounting software;
  • Carry out any other task of the same nature or of a general nature linked to the job, requested or necessary by his duties.

TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in accounting, finance, administration or related field;
  • Minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience in a similar position;
  • Experience in processing of payables and expense accounts;
  • Or equivalent work/study combination

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to collaborate remotely or physically with a team and promote an interdepartmental supportive environment.
  • Advanced level of French and English to communicate easily with employees and suppliers.
  • Excellent logical and analytical skills.
  • Desire to learn, striking motivation and unparalleled curiosity while having an ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively and efficiently, while meeting required deadlines.
  • Be resourceful and enjoy exploring the complex workings of payables automation.
  • Be a team player and love collaboration.
  • Good understanding of confidentiality and sensitive information.
  • Good knowledge of the different tools at your disposal (MS Office suite, accounting system, (Accounts Payable automation software is an asset), etc.)
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of work.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS

  • Bilingualism writing and oral communication skills in both French and English
  • Able to work in a hybrid remote set up in our Winnipeg facility
