Accounts Receivable Supervisor
Springhill Lumber Wholesale is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our accounting department, as the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, full-time (Monday to Friday). The Accounts Receivable Supervisor reports directly to the Controller. The candidate will be proficient in Office based software, will be a strong team player with good interpersonal skills and possess superior communication skills, both written and oral.
The successful candidate will receive full company paid benefits after 90-days.
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year (Depending on Experience)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the supervision and providing guidance, training, and support;
- Responsible for reconciling customers’ accounts (cash and credit) and daily balances;
- Verify which accounts to apply payments against and post in the ERP system;
- Initiate collection calls on outstanding customer accounts and answering customers’ queries;
- Inform proper management of outstanding accounts as requested;
- Audit ledgers to ensure they contain correct information;
- Assists Controller with analysis of data and reports, review policies, procedures and best practices;
- Identifies and recommends to management proposed adjustment to accounts
- Set up new customers accounts and job costing accounts;
- Supervise the reconciliation of daily balances, follow up on discrepancies;
- Prepare daily banking deposits slips, maintain deposit listing and report to management;
- Prepare and print month end statements and email/mail them in a timely manner;
- Reconcile First Nations Cash Sales accounts and email to First Nation Manager;
- Maintain and track First Nation contract files
- Track and invoice month end freight;
- Handle all special billing situations, oversee petty cash;
- Other duties as required.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- 5 – 7 years of experience in collection and credit;
- Post secondary education in related field an asset;
- Prior experience in Accounts Receivable Supervisory position;
- Highly skilled and proficient at verifying financial or transactional data;
- Ability to supervise and support staff;
- Strong interpersonal skills, logical and efficient, with attention to detail;
- Problem solving and conflict resolution skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Self-starter with a proven track record of multi-tasking abilities;
- Experienced with ERP Systems and MS Office Software.
- Reliable vehicle is required, as this is a non-bus route.
