Administrative Full-time New Position (2 Vacancies)

Reporting to the Manager of Program Accreditation and Recognition (PAR) in the Department of Institutional Quality Management, this position is responsible for providing project management and oversight to ensure the efficient and effective execution of accreditation and recognition processes for Conestoga’s non-degree programs. The incumbent will work with senior management, school representatives and heads of departments to ensure programs at non-degree credential levels meet external bodies’ quality standards and best practices. The incumbent provides recommendations with tact and diplomacy in the areas of program design, delivery, strategic enrolment management and resources.

It is anticipated that this position will meet the needs of the department through a hybrid work arrangement, primarily working remotely. When working on-site, this position will be primarily located at Conestoga’s 3065 King Street East location in Kitchener.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct program teams throughout the accreditation processes
  • Provide project management and oversight to ensure the efficient and effective execution of accreditation processes (facilitation, documentation, site visits, etc.) for Conestoga’s schools, academic service areas and external bodies
  • Direct the multi-stage accreditation process working with program teams to ensure outcomes and timelines are achieved
  • Lead and facilitate the procurement of qualitative and quantitative data from academic and service areas for the purpose of compiling packages to inform accreditation submissions
  • Review and interpret data to ensure accuracy in preparation for accreditations
  • Employ a high-level of discretion and political sensitivity when providing strategic analysis of the data and recommendations to program teams and external bodies
  • Lead and facilitate the strategic analysis of program data through small to large group meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide program-level recommendations to ensure compliance with Conestoga and Ministry policies, Ministry program standards, accrediting bodies, and CQAAP Guidelines and Framework
  • Provide program-level recommendations with tact and diplomacy in the areas of program design, delivery, strategic enrolment management and resources
  • Co-lead the development of corrective action plans for programs
  • Collaborate with Program Quality Review team to ensure the implementation of corrective action plans
  • Coordinate with academic and college service areas to secure expertise needed at the appropriate points during the accreditation processes
  • Oversee the process of curriculum change implementation to existing designs, ensuring requests align with Conestoga and Ministry’s policies, procedures, and practices, as it relates to accreditation outcomes
  • Provide technical and functional guidance to Deans, Chairs, faculty and support staff regarding accreditation processes and systems
  • Support and facilitate professional development and/or other related requirements for the accreditation and recognition processes and accompanying online systems

Qualifications:

  • Four-year Degree in Public Policy Analysis, Sociology, Program Evaluation, Educational Research, or a related field of study is required; Master’s Degree is preferred
  • Minimum five years of experience in interpreting policy, regulations and/or experience with regulatory and/or accrediting bodies
  • Excellent professional communication and consultative skills
  • Excellent project management skills; proven ability to manage projects of varying scope
  • Excellent writing and editing abilities; Proficiency in proofreading
  • Experience working in the CAAT system or other Canadian post-secondary institutions
  • Ability to conduct effective research and synthesize information
  • Ability to work with large teams and a diverse/fragmented pool of stakeholders
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Action-oriented and collaborative approach for positive outcomes
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to deal with ambiguity and remain positive in adversity
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) is required
