Location: AVRL Administration Office - Berwick
Status: Permanent full time
Salary range 2024-2025: $30,503 - $35,363 annually
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm
Hours per pay period: 70 hours
Classification: Clerk, Salary Band 2

Reports to Coordinator of Corporate Services
SUMMARY OF JOB
Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Corporate Services, assists in the processing and ordering of library material.
DUTIES
Ordering
Places orders for library material through the automated system, checks for additional copies within AVRL holdings and determines which route of processing an item requires Sends appropriate documentation to library material vendors, other departments and the Nova Scotia Provincial Library as it relates to book orders
Receiving
Receives all library material from vendors Checks in orders received, logs invoiced prices Initiates and follows through on claims of incorrectly received or missing material Prepares new material for entry into the automated system Sort and evaluates donations
Processing
Prepares library material for circulation as needed Repairs library material as needed Maintains mending supplies Develops donor plates as needed
Cataloguing
Maintains the region’s holdings in the Provincial database based on Provincialguidelines Withdraws items from the region and of AVRL holdings in the database

Branch Collection Transfers
• Assists in the preparation of any items being delivered to branches
Assists in the unpacking and sorting of all items being returned to AdministrationOffice from branch libraries. Loads and unloads the library van on designated delivery days. Other May fill-in for other staff as needed Performs other related duties as required
EDUCATION Grade 12 plus the completion of a clerical training course or equivalent EXPERIENCE At least one year’s experience in the library field TYPE AND LEVEL OF SUPERVISION None
