The Opportunity

Reporting to the Programmer, Active Living, this role is responsible for assisting with the administration and delivery of safe, customer-focused Active Living programs while promoting access and equitable processes for residents. The Active Living Lead assists with the planning, scheduling, staff supervision, and coordination of the daily operation of an Active Living facility.

As the Active Living Lead, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:

• Perform Fitness Class Instructor, Personal Training, Youth and Adult Orientations duties based on program objectives outlined by the Town and/or certifying organization, ensuring safety of participants, volunteers, and staff.
• Assist in the planning, preparation and execution of a variety of Active Living programs, services and initiatives, including inclusive opportunities.
• Perform various maintenance and facility preparation duties to maintain a clean and safe facility and ensure equipment is stored safely.
• Responsible for securing facility before and after programs.
• Perform Fieldhouse Floor Shift duties, ensuring supervision of Active Living participants, volunteers, and staff.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an enthusiastic professional with one (1) year of Personal Training and/or Fitness Instructor experience. A post-secondary diploma in Kinesiology, Fitness & Lifestyle or a Fitness Instruction certificate would be considered an asset

The successful candidate for Active Living Lead will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, remotely and after hours (as required).

This position offers a wage rate of $27.16 per hour.

Satisfactory passing of a vulnerable sector check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.
