In consultation with the Mental Health Occupational Therapist or designate, the Activity Worker is a member of a
multidisciplinary team, plans and facilitates a wide variety of arts, crafts, games and activities to enhance the
hospitalization of the patients on the Acute Care Psychiatric Unit. Activities will be designed for the patients to enjoy and to
learn leisure skills that they can take away with them to enhance their quality of life.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Advanced Violence Prevention training an asset
- Food Safe certification, or willingness to obtain within three (3) months of commencing employment
- Working knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
- Experience in Activities Development or Recreational Therapy is an asset
- Experience with, and ability to demonstrate, a wide variety of crafts and games; Interest in music would be an
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Successful candidate subject to provide security checks in accordance with Security Checks for Employment
