Position Title: Admissions Counsellor

Overview

Newgate 180 is growing and on the move! As a result of our recent growth, we are looking for an experienced Counsellor to join our team.

Newgate 180 is one of Canada’s pre-eminent addiction rehab centres with a history of success dating back nearly 50 years. We have successfully treated over 5000 people and helped them overcome their addiction and lead fulfilling and happy lives.

Located just a 30-minute drive from Ottawa in beautiful Merrickville overlooking the historic Rideau Canal, our Men’s and Women’s Centres offer rehabilitation services to working adults ages 25 to 75 from all over Canada. Key Duties

This professional will be responsible for responding to and managing the many inquiries that we receive each month from prospective clients and their families, as well as inquiries received from employers, union locals, doctors and therapists.

They will be our brand ambassador and will assess each inquiry and determine their fit and suitability for treatment. They will conduct screening interviews with all prospective clients according to our process.

They will support the Program Director and other members of our Care Team who are contacted by prospective new clients during evenings and weekends. This will include following up with these new clients.

They will prepare Admissions reports as requested by the Program Director and Chief Marketing Officer. They will support our Care Team in the delivery of treatment during periods when the team needs support.

They will manage the new admissions and onboarding process with all new clients and their loved one(s) and/or sponsors, ensuring that they experience a positive introduction to Newgate 180 and their first few days of residency at our Centre.

Key Qualifications

1. Excellent skills in MS Office, particularly MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and Outlook.

2. Excellent Communications and Computer skills.

3. An empathetic manner and exceptional listening skills.

4. Recognized Diploma/Degree in Addictions Counselling, Addictions and Mental Health Counselling or equivalent

5. Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in an addictions and/or mental health treatment setting.

Compensation Package

Newgate 180 offers an exceptional compensation package to the successful candidate, including:

1. Base Salary: $26.94 - $31.31 per hour depending on experience, based on a 37.5-hour work week.

2. Full-time, permanent employment after the successful candidate completes a probationary period of six (6) months.

3. Paid Sick Leave (as per our collective agreement).

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm (total 37.5-hour week)
