About the role

We are looking for an Advisor Electrical – Mine Maintenance to join our diverse team. This is a key role within the Owner’s team with the responsibility for administering the systematic and coordinated activities and practices through which an organisation optimally and sustainably manages its assets and asset systems, their associated performance, risks, and expenditures over their life cycles for the purpose of achieving its organisational strategic plan.

The purpose of this role is to provide frontline leadership as leading, planning, managing, and advising on effective implementation and performance of functional unit operation in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the department's objectives and targeted plan.

Working 4 weeks on/ 2 weeks off international FIFO and arrangement and reporting to Electrical Superintendent, you will be responsible for following:

  • Daily based task assignment and safety supervision
  • Monitors work performance and safety implementation
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance on Loading Units (CAT7495, CAT6060, PV351E)
  • Advise and supervise team with safe working methods on planned and unplanned maintenance
  • Reports and analyzes equipment's daily breakdowns and maintaining services to the Superintendent,Mine Maintenance,
  • Supports weekly maintenance scheduling and planning
  • Provides long term maintenance plan for the equipment to improve reliabilities
  • Monitors and provides equipment parts' reliabilities and cooperate with planning team
  • Monitors and improves equipment's utilization to cooperate with Mine Operation
  • Advise and train the local employees for CAT7495 IGBT Sibas, WINCC software and Siemens PLC

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ years relevant working experience
  • CAT7495 Electric Rope Shovel Advanced Experience
  • Siemens IGBT Sibas 32 drive and control
  • Siemens Simantic, Sibas Monitor and WINCC software experience.
  • Siemens PLC experience
  • CAT6060Hydraulic Shovel
  • DH3 and older TH340 version experience
  • Running RCS4

Professional background

Post-secondary or equivalent education obtained through degrees, certificates (Electrical Trade Qualifications, High Voltage Qualifications (Desirable but not essential), Instrumentation experience & PLC Advanced Training/Certification (desirable)).

It will also be beneficial if you have:

Maintenance Service, Engineering or relevant discipline is preferable. (General Soft starter control and start style)

Where you’ll be working

Oyu Tolgoi is an operating Copper / Gold open pit mine with a brownfields underground mining. The site is in the Gobi Desert region of Mongolia. The reserves case for the underground mine is in the order of 0.5 billion tonnes of ore to be mined from the 95,000 tonnes per day Hugo North Lift 1 (HNL1) panel cave mine with a 20-year operations life. There is also the potential for 3 further block cave districts to increase mine life beyond 100 years.
