The After School Worker (ASW) plans and delivers quality programming for the After School Program targeting child age 6 to 12 years old. The After School Program activities are focused on:
- Physical activity through play
- Knowledge of healthy food choices and ability to plan a healthy meal
- Resiliency, self esteem, self confidence
- Homework and school-related projects
Program-Related Activities
- Plan program activities ensuring each session of the program has the following components: physical activity, healthy food choices and nutrition, personal health and wellness activities, and schoolwork assistance.
- Organize and deliver activities ensuring all components of the program run smoothly, problem solving issues as they arise, and liaising with program partners as required.
- Supervise participants and delivers program content within a safe and secure environment, ensuring positive interactions among program participants.
- Register clients, and maintain daily attendance for each registrant in the program.
- Seek relevant guest speakers /external agency visits to enrich programming
- Participate in outreach efforts to engage with local children and youth, their families, and community residents and promote the After School programming.
- Liaise with community residents and community resource staff to promote the programs and related opportunities in the community.
- Ensure accountability by providing statistics and reports of activities, as required, and keeps accurate client records, as required, within the safeguards of confidentiality.
As a condition of employment, the successful candidate is required to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19
