Location is flexible, within Alberta, dependent on the successful applicant. Travel in circumstances will be reimbursed according to AFSC's Employee and Board of Directors Expense Policy.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President - Insurance/AgriStability/LPI, the AgriStability Coach is responsible for developing Relationship Managers Insurance across the province specific to income stabilization. Focus will be given to team member preparedness for effectively delivering the AgriStability program and future income stabilization enhancements.

Coaching -70%

  • Coach RMI's on managing the client relationship, positioning AgriStability program utilizing fundamental insurance principles while balancing AFSC risk. What to ask and what to review prior to client eligibility through to administrative delivery.
  • Provide guidance and coaching on positioning to various farm business structures and farming practices as it relates to current and future enhancements of AgriStability.
  • Liaise with the Product Team to align process and program changes into the program delivery to clients as well as incorporate into the RMI training.
  • Identify and evaluate complex, expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.
  • Act as subject matter expert and maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulations and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving complex or contentious queries and issues and enabling others to take appropriate actions.

Training and Development Programs - 20%

  • Develop and deliver continued AgriStability Training for seasonal preparedness to the provincial RMI teams from both a policy and procedural perspective.
  • Direct involvement in the digital platform evolution to match training needs to effective field delivery.
  • Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions to build their capabilities. Provide training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.

Continuous Improvement - 10%

  • Liaise with the Product Team to monitor and manage AgriStability administration processes with a focus on creating an efficient and client-focused delivery model.
  • Encourage and support team members in developing a continuous improvement mindset and be a driver of change within the organization.
  • Identify and evaluate complex, expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.

Authority - Level 3 AgriStability

Review client applications for AgriStability and associated documents to support the development and performance of RMIs and communicate opportunities for growth with the Team Leader, and coach team members for continued program confidence and delivery.

Education & Experience

  • College Diploma or University Degree with 8 years of related experience OR 12 years of related experience
  • Strong insurance background, preferably with solid knowledge of the Agricultural industry
  • Driving as a Core Requirement: Driving is a bona fide occupational requirement of the role (necessary for the performance of the job) and the employee cannot meet the core requirements of the role without a valid driver's license.
