Description
The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) is a treasury board crown responsible for emergency communications including Sask911 and SaskAlert, wildfire management, emergency management and fire safety. This centralized agency ensures a single point of contact for communities, greater coordination of provincial resources and contributes to safer communities in our province.
The SPSA is seeking an organized, a self-motivated and task-oriented engineer for up to three (3) permanent full-time positions as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer I in the Operational Response, Air Operations in La Ronge.
This position will:
-Perform periodic inspections on airframes, engines and systems on a fleet of 17 firefighting aircrafts.
-Troubleshoot deficiencies in airframe, engine, electrical, hydraulic and instrumentation systems and carry out corrective action.
-Dismantle and assemble aircraft systems for repair and overhaul.
-Ensure all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on aircraft are controlled.
-Perform work in accordance with Transport Canada guidelines, Air Operations policies, procedures and manufacturer's recommendations.
-Completes Aircraft Maintenance and repair log books, and records other required documentation.
To qualify for this position, you will possess the following:
-A valid Transport Canada AME M1 License.
-A valid AMEs license category S.
-Experience in aircraft periodic inspections, heavy inspections and repairs.
-Experience in Aircraft Maintenance and scheduling maintenance activities.
-Effective interpersonal skills.
-Knowledge of the Candian Aviation Regulations.
The position requires a valid drivers license; the ability to travel 20% of the time; and a valid criminal record check.
