- The Duty Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of all day to day tasks related to their local Sky Cafe Station.
- Overall Job Duties
o Responsible for providing a safe and secure work environment for all employees
o Promote a Safety-First environment within the workplace
o Engage in regular employee/leadership engagement meetings
o Ensure employees are in compliance with uniform, appearance, and personal protective equipment policies (safety toe shoes, uniform cleanliness, and jewelry)
o Adhere to all policies and follow established procedures
o Participate in required meetings, providing input and recommendations
o Conduct appropriate Operational/Safety briefings
o Conduct training and provide ongoing training support to all staff.
o Perform audits ensuring all employees are following Company policies and procedures
o Actively participates in the Safety Management System (SMS)
o Ensure GPET incident report (Safety Management System – SMS) is generated and sent out within 3 hours of occurrence
o Ensure all required training is completed to company standard
o Perform all functions of all operational positions, as needed
o Delegate job duties as required and ensure completion
o Ensure timely execution of all required duties and expectations
o Perform other duties as assigned
- Transport Focus
o Ensure all required PPE is properly worn
o Coordination and oversight of aircraft turnaround activities
o Ensure aircraft is loaded in accordance with operational instruction
o Follow and enforce all airline SOPs in accordance with training
o Ensure foreign object debris walks are performed accordingly
o Works in conjunction with the team and remains within the footprint of each assigned flight to oversee the safe and timely operation
o Ensure that processes are delivered within SLA standards and compliance limits
while adhering to safety requirements
o Ensure all aircraft issues are reported to the flight crew
o Perform ramp audits
o Update GPET according to the shift worked – GPET must be updated for all flight serviced per shift including double checking for accuracy to ensure that all extra charges and information is inputted correctly
- Warehouse Focus
o Ensure all flights are built to carrier specifications
o Audit flight builds for compliance
o Ensure the completion of all required inventory counts within requested time frames and confirm accuracy
o Ensure the completion of Temperature and Cleaning logs within the warehouse
o Ensure all In Bound Shipments are received according to SOP
o Ensure all Outbound Shipments are sent according to SOP
o Ensure warehouse set up and preparation meets expectations
o Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) of all goods is followed
o Coordinate the release of catering, bond, and commissary requirements
Work Environment
- Exposure to extreme temperature changes and noise
- May be required to work in a cold room of 4 degrees or less for extended periods of time
- Must be capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis as per the physical demands analysis for the task at hand
- Regular standing, bending, and lifting during shift
- Must be able to work at heights up to 25 feet or more depending upon type of aircraft
- Able to perform job duties outside in all weather conditions
- Efficiently work as part of a team, as well as independently without direct supervision

- 2-3 years of leadership experience
- Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain in good standing

- Must obtain necessary airport and/or Transport Canada security clearances and maintain in good standing
- Must obtain necessary airport vehicle operators permit and maintain in good standing
- Must be able to operate all equipment as pertains to the position (forklifts, high lift trucks, catering vans)
- Ability to work within the required time parameters
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules
- Must successfully complete airline and corporate specific training programs and recertification
- Must have the ability to travel as required
- Must have current passport and maintain in good standing
