Duties
- Provide geomatics technical services in the collection, manipulation, analysis, integration, and presentation of geospatial and non-geospatial data to functional specialists and managers of the Lake Louise, Yoho, and Kootenay Field Unit.
- Maintain geospatial and non-geospatial data and information in support of management activities and local implementations of national systems that utilize geomatics.
- Work primarily in an office environment with occasional work in the field.
- Be part of the Integrated Land Use Policy and Planning team and work closely with other functions.

Intent of the process
The results of this process will be used to fill a term and may be used in the future to fill permanent or temporary vacancies that may arise at the EG 04 level in the Lake Louise, Yoho and Kootenay Field Unit or in various locations with full or part-time hours for various tenures, such as: Indeterminate, Term, Acting Assignment or Assignment at level, depending on status of the selected candidate.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with specialization in geomatics, geography, cartography or other discipline relevant to geomatics;
- An acceptable combination of two years post-secondary program, training and experience in a field related to the position.
Degree equivalency
- Experience acquiring, storing, processing, analyzing and disseminating scientific and geospatial data in a variety of formats;
- Experience using GIS (ESRI ArcGIS Pro) as well as word processing for technical documentation, spreadsheets, and database programs (e.g., Microsoft 365 and Confluence);
- Experience building and managing web maps and apps on an ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, ArcGIS Online and/or mobile field apps like Field Maps and Survey123;
- Experience troubleshooting geomatics implementations.

- Knowledge of trends and technical developments in GIS.

- Experience in providing basic technical training and/or presentations;
- Experience building custom tools/scripts within ArcGIS;
- Experience in collecting, handling, processing and managing Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) imagery.
- Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and prescribed protective equipment;
- Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation;
- Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required.
Conditions of employment
- Obtain and maintain Reliability Status security clearance
- Possession and maintenance of a valid class 5 driver’s license or provincial equivalent
