We are currently seeking an Application Developer to join our Information Technology team based in the Firm's Halifax, NS office.

Type of Position: Full-Time, Permanent

Close Date: Tuesday, February 13th, 2024


The Opportunity:

An integral member of the Firm's IT Team, our Application Developers build and work on enterprise level software systems with an emphasis on the Microsoft .NET developmental platforms and Microsoft SQL Server. The Application Developer is involved in all stages throughout the development process- from design to development to testing, as well as deployment and support.

In particular, the successful candidate will design, develop, test and maintain web and desktop-based business applications in accordance with established standards and security protocols; assist with the collection & documentation of user requirements, project scoping and estimates; and prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of tools and inhouse applications.

The successful candidate will also participate in peer reviews for solution designs and associated code, work with team members in the migration of legacy applications to modern technologies, and package and support deployment in both testing and live environments.

Furthermore, the Application Developer will develop, refine & tune integrations between applications, analyze & resolve technical and application problems, and ensure solutions are always delivered on time and within budget - all while adhering to high-quality development principles, and various Firm policies & procedures.

If you are a self-motivated Application Developer with strong organizational, analytical and time management skills, along with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and relational database designs & querying concepts, we want to hear from you! The successful candidate will have two years of experience in a development or designer role with exposure to Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft .NET using C#. Post-secondary education in computer science, as well as exposure to various solutions (including but not limited to SharePoint 2019, Microsoft Power Platform, ASP, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript including jQuery), would be an asset.
