Applications are being accepted from qualified individuals for a full-time Appointment without Term position at the Lecturer rank, in the Department of Sociology, effective July 1, 2024 (the anticipated start date). This is a non-tenure track position. The Department has teaching needs in the areas of mental health, quality of living, and communities. Teaching areas can address the social factors associated with health and well-being, the intersection of health and environment, health over the life course, public health and policy, and the ways in which institutions, technology, and the built environment shape health outcomes. A full-time Appointment without Term Lecturer will carry a workload (combination of teaching and administrative duties) of 30 credit units per year. Appointments without Term faculty are eligible for a one-time only three-year graduated teaching load of six (6) three (3) credit unit courses in year 1; seven (7) three (3) credit unit courses in year 2; and eight (8) three credit unit courses in subsequent years.
