Architectural Drafting Technician

· Job duties:

• Reviewing plans.
• Preparing and maintaining project notes.
• Preparing and submitting RFIs (Requests for Information).
• Managing and distributing files, such as plans and revisions.
• Handling SI change orders.
• Handling RFI responses, shop drawings, communications, material delivery requests, record dates of SI documents such as crane placement, site access/traffic control, and safety railings.
• Handling Model Projects: floor, snap out, hold down layout, units, decks, components lists, party wall material and unit materials.
• Merging files into one document and downloading new projects into bidding.
• Managing files pursuant to owners’ instructions.

Skills requirements:

Required education:

• Completion of college or industry courses in drafting is preferred.

Required work experience and skills:

• Strong programming skills.
• Language of work - English
• Experience using advanced structural design software.
• Able to accurately read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Strong math skills and a demonstrated ability to handle, organize, and interpret construction-related technical/design information such as building codes.
• Good working knowledge of prefabricated framing and framing techniques.
• Professional attitude with a strong desire to develop skills, knowledge, and capabilities to full potential in a professional team environment.
• Reliable self-starter with a demonstrated ability to prioritize efforts as required.
• Able to maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards co-workers, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders while working in a fast-paced production setting. Good working knowledge of IPAD/MDM control and MiTek.
• Must complete all video training.
• Field experience or existing training using design software programs.
• Computer skills training in standard PC programs (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• 4 to 5 years of related work experience is preferred.
• Training on MiTek, Alpine, Revit, Solid Builder is preferred.
