Asphalt Plant Operator

Ruel Concrete Ltd.is a progressive, fast growing company that has operated in the Peace River area since 1989, with the recent expansion to the Slave Lake Area. We provide gravel, asphalt, and concrete services to Municipalities, Alberta Transportation, General Contractors, and Developers in our community and surrounding areas.

Role & Responsibilities:

· Coordinate and schedule testing for internal QC on final product and raw aggregates

· Complete upgrades and maintenance on all Asphalt Plants

· Keep good communication with paving superintendent & customers on project tonnage milestones

· Monitor AC, Burner & Propane levels and order as needed

· Monitor and keep track of ACP tonnes

· Complete daily safety inspections & JHA’s

· Troubleshoot issues, always aiming for efficiency and gain production

· Manage and schedule ground person/loader person, ensuring time is being utilized effectively

· Monitor asphalt temperatures, Asphalt Oil & Fuel temperatures

· Ensure proper operation of bag house

· Take customer orders

· Ensure proper aggregate moistures into computer system

· Keep good daily communication with Sylvain, Dispatch and Paving Superintendent regarding delays and/or break downs

· Must be able to manage multiple plants and transfer between Peace River and Slave Lake as needed

· Understand and abide by all company safety policies, procedures, and standards

· Complete daily start-up inspections, housekeeping, and cleanliness of plant

Wage: $30.00 - $38.00/hour – based on experience

Experience/Education:

· Valid Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent)

· Experience in Asphalt plant production and/or operations required

· Must be fluent in English, with proficient written and oral communication skills

· Must be computer literate

· First Aid Certificate

Salary: $30.00-$38.00 per hour
