Starting: $20.00 (Probationary to 75 working days;600 hours)

$23.20 Full rate

· Afternoon shift (M-F, 3:00PM – 11:00PM)

· Midnight shift (M-F, 11:00PM – 7:00AM)

Description and Environment:

Using a variety of assembly equipment (welders, robotic welders, hand tools and other Assembly Machines), the assembly associate produces various sized manufactured products including ball studs, panels, hinges, struts, and bolts. The operator also performs basic measurements and is responsible for quality checks according to customer specifications. This is done in a plant environment with concrete floors, moderate to loud noise, varied temperature levels with moving machinery and handling metals is various forms of raw material. PPE is required as per company policy. Essential duties of the job including, lifting, standing, sitting, bending, crouching, reaching, grasping, walking and the use of basic mathematical calculations including statistics. Operator is also responsible for machine set up and adjustments using various hand tools, in addition to the analysis of the output. Output/production criteria must be met as per the standards set by the company. Assembly jobs are done using a variety of repetitive motions throughout the shift. Long sleeves and long pants must be always worn. PPE always required in plant: green-triangle safety shoes, hearing and eye protection.

All hourly employees must be able to do the following during their employment with URSA

a) Meet production output standards and quality as set by the company.

b) Show up on time for every scheduled shift.

c) Demonstrate an active commitment to health and safety in all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities:

· Run production on various work centers

· Adjust machines as required

· Record output and troubleshoots using basic process-control methods

· Work closely with maintenance, other operators, and supervisor to ensure machine is achieving needed output and quality

· Perform basic quality checks on finished product

· Maintain the work centre in good order at all times including housekeeping

· Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

· Required PPE at all times on the floor; green triangle safety shoes, ear plugs, eye protection, long sleeves and long pants

· Mechanical aptitude; operators must perform careful adjustments to the machine and process using a control panels and small tools

· Must be available for overtime as mandated

· Operators must produce as per the production standards set by the company

· Operators must be able to perform basic quality checks that include but are not limited to visual inspections, part measurement, accurate counting, reporting and labeling

· Must be able to abide by all URSA policies (especially attendance and health and safety)

· Must be able to read and write and communicate clearly in English

· Must be able to perform and use basic mathematical and statistical calculations

Note: Ursa is a multi-shift operation. Successful application for this job does not entitle an employee to a shift ‘guarantee’. If the business needs change, the incumbent may be required to work on, or transfer to a different shift than the starting shift in this posting.
