As the Asset Management Lead, you will lead the development, implementation and review of aspects of Calgary Transit's (CT) Asset Management program, to ensure compliance with The City's Asset Management Policy, legislative requirements, and best practices. Primary duties include:
  • Oversee Asset Management activities, including: asset inventory and maintenance data collection, service analysis, condition assessments, risk assessments, building Asset Management competencies, asset performance management, fulfilment of Asset Management related requests and generation of Asset Management plans and reports.
  • Participate in the development, implementation and standard operation of Asset Management best practices, including the use of standardized processes and tools.
  • Provide Asset Management consultation, advice, coaching and mentoring to various sections within CT.
  • Conduct cost/benefit analysis of capital and operating plans; determine asset performance; build/improve best practice efficiencies; and provide feedback regarding gaps, opportunities, compliance and variances.
  • Manage and supervise Asset Management staff, as required, regarding the operational aspects of Asset Management practice implementation. Participate in or lead the confidential process of competency reviews and make recommendations for staff training and development.
  • Influence capital and operating budget planning through the promotion of CT's Asset Management Plan.
  • Participate in Asset Management-related linkages and groups within The City that benefit CT's Asset Management strategy and program.
  • Work on Asset Management practice implementation and monitoring plans for CT's Infrastructure division, including identifying various levels of Asset Management maturity and communication of the Asset Management Plan. Identify potential Asset Management challenges/opportunities and track sectional Asset Management performance.
 
Qualifications 
  • A degree in Engineering, Business, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline with at least 8 years of related experience. 
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
  • Previous experience in industry Asset Management best practices, related applications and related business principles, as well as a firm understanding of enterprise Asset Management, information technology, Asset Management applications/systems, and organizational design concepts is required.
  • You are an effective communicator, with a commitment to customer service, continuous improvement, and demonstrated business and political acumen.

Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
