Asset Operations Coordinator
Do you like finding solutions? Making plans? Figuring out puzzles? Using the grey matter between your ears?
We need an Asset Operations Coordinator. Other wise know as a dispatcher. Or a planner. Or the person that keeps the trucks moving. I honestly dont care what you call yourself, we need the person to take care of things, make the plan, execute the plan and ensure everything happens.
What would you have to do?
Put plans together. What truck with what driver with what trailer with what load. What makes the most sense? What covers off the customer requirements? This is a very simplistic view, but we are charged by the letter for this ad, so we can answer better in the interview.
Some questions that you will have to ask and figure out the answer:
What can be done in the hours of service available? Where is this place vs that place? How long does it take to load/unload? How many miles away? How long does it take to drive there? Is this the right trailer? How much does the load pay? Etc. etc. etc.
What do you need to know or have?
Technology skills. How to use email. Being able to figure out how to log into system and remember a password. Critical thinking. Problem solving. Math skills. The ability to roll up your sleeves and get to work. As Leroy and Leroy say, Theres always something to do. Patience. Humility. The ability to listen. Desire to learn and grow. Being involved.
