We are seeking a full time Assistant Banquet Manager working a variety of days, evenings, and most weekends. Who is the right person? Someone who is outgoing, multi-tasker, organized, personable with exceptional customer service and mentoring/coaching skills. Service and hospitality is your lifeblood.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Banquet team in all aspects of the department, actively participate in the servicing of events and ensure CWC safety policies, procedures and service standards are followed
- Inspire progress, innovation and change within all food and beverage areas
- Ensure proper staffing and scheduling of banquets team in accordance to productivity guidelines
- Teach and reinforce service techniques and standards to the team, including product knowledge and training of new hires
- Maintain optimal inventory and control costs
- Assist in:
- · advertising and promotional planning
- · managing fiscal responsibilities
- · product and customer service related issues
- · liaising with front desk staff and sport professionals regarding special events
- Ensure proper maintenance of all related equipment and tools
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Maintain a professional image and attitude at all times
- Ability to maintain and project a fair and positive attitude within a teamwork environment
- Solid understanding of food production and execution; able to be creative and unique in style
- Budget, plan, and manage labour, food, and beverage costs; knowledge of cash handling controls and cash management systems
- 3-5 years experience in a supervisory role including experience in employee matters and training; experience in a private club is an asset
- Sanitation, Proserve, and WHMIS certification
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills
- Accreditation in the hospitality field; advanced education and/or hospitality courses
