Reporting to the Director of Womens Housing and as a member of the Womens Housing Leadership team, the Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day operation of:
Wapahan Wachiey;
Kikinaw Residence; and
Amowacistin Pahkahowin Repatriation Spaces and rental spaces.
The Assistant Director will create a trauma-informed, safe, community environment for all residents, and support a healthy team culture amongst program staff based on collaboration, a respectful approach to challenging issues, and a culture of ongoing learning and incorporation of best practices. The Assistant Director will be very familiar with harm reduction and trauma-informed approaches to mental health and substance use disorder, and a deep understanding of colonization and commitment to reconciliation.

Qualifications:
A working knowledge of both administration and program needs. A solid understanding of the complexities leading to homelessness is essential.
Knowledge of Indigenous culture, history, and practice as well as evidence of extensive engagement with and commitment to Indigenous community;
Demonstrated experience working with the complex needs of people who have experienced barriers to housing and/or homelessness;
Bachelors degree in Social Work, Sociology or other human service field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Good managerial and organizational abilities, previous personnel management experience preferred;
Experience liaising with the Ministry of Social Services;
Crisis intervention skills; and
Strong leadership skills and a clear understanding of teamwork.
