The majority Indigenous-owned company provides camp and support services for remote workforce housing projects. Where We Work and Live:
The Jansen Discovery Lodge is a workforce housing facility in support of the BHP Jansen potash mine. The camp is located 155 kilometers east of Saskatoon, SK.
Description:
Under the direction and leadership of the Operations Manager we are seeking an Assistant Lodge Managerto join our Camp Services department. The Assistant Lodge Manager is responsible for managing, planning, evaluating, and leading the full range of business and operational activities within the camp.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the manager and directs a multi-disciplined support team supporting the needs of the clients at the Lodge
- Coordinates and ensures the smooth and effective service delivery of functional groups such as food services, accommodations, information management systems, security, transport, facilities management, and various amenity services
- Provides day-to-day liaison support with customer site-management staff to ensure responsive, timely, and effective support to the operations and activities at the Lodge
- Assists Operations Manager with the timely preparation and submission of all internal and external reports and returns
- Ensures effective orientation, training, coaching and rotation scheduling
- Monitors the implementation of all functional services to ensure consistent, effective, and quality service
- Experience and/or understanding of contract management and contract negotiations
- Assists in the evaluation and development of policies, procedures and processes to enhance the delivery of services at the Lodge
- Assists managing the budgets and monitor revenues and expenses
- Other duties as assigned
- Provides day-to-day liaison with client representatives, facility departmental management staff to ensure responsive, timely, and effective support to the operations and work activities. In collaboration with other department managers, resolves customer complaints and actively involved in ensuring employees follow safe and sound procedures and are adhering to government regulations as well as ATCO Frontec Health and Safety, policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A University Degree or College Diploma in Hotel/Accommodation Management or other related disciplines
- A minimum of 4-6 years’ experience of management within the accommodation industry
- A visionary leader with proven management, communication and analytical skills
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with a creative spirit; and a highly inquisitive approach
- Industry related managerial experience and entrepreneurial skills and experience in the areas of hiring and mentoring professional staff, developing and overseeing marketing, managing resources to meet business goals and communicating these goals to all levels
- Proven leadership, business acumen, analytical capabilities and negotiation skills A self-starter with above average experience/knowledge in team building, and relationship building in a cross-cultural environment
