What will I be doing?

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Assistant Maintenance Manager is responsible for preservation of a clean, safe, well-functioning facility, and assisting in the management and performance of routine maintenance and preventative maintenance to the physical properties and equipment of the Hilton. The Assistant Maintenance Manager will offer ongoing support and coaching on projects based on priority, gain knowledge and expertise with each assignment, and advise on best protocols towards resolution and long-term fixes. Additionally, this position will be managing a team of employees, communicating work orders, company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to the team.

Responsibilities

· Assist in the planning, prioritization, scheduling and performance of all required maintenance, including set-up, preparation and clean up.

· Maintain accurate records for any routine repairs and major maintenance projects.

· Communicate clear expectations regarding maintenance jobs, priorities and accomplishments to the Maintenance Manager and team.

· Assist in the accomplishment of any maintenance required to safely operate the business.

· Provide help to Maintenance manager, including during hiring and training of new Team Members, and keeps manager updated of on team performance.

· Act on behalf of Maintenance Manager as delegated and take responsibility for large maintenance projects and attending meetings if required.

· Provide accurate information to assist in the development of the maintenance budget.

· Responsible for time management of the maintenance team.

· Ensure efficient repair schedules and review repair cost estimates

· Establish a routine proactive SOP to maintain equipment regularly

· Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of company equipment and parts

· Control and monitor inventory

· Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities;

· Delegate workload and supervise Maintenance staff and painters

· Monitor expenses and control the budget. (Work closely with Maintenance Manager)

· Manage relationships with contractors and service providers

· Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities

Experience:

· A minimum of 5 years of experience conducting Maintenance repairs

· A minimum of 2 years previous managerial or supervisory experience

· Post-secondary education in a related field would be an asset

· Excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills

· Customer-service skills

· Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks

· Strong leadership skills

· Proficient in reading schematics and work plans

· Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines
