ABOUT INUVIALUIT REGIONAL CORPORATION (IRC)


IRC was created in 1984 to represent the Inuvialuit and their rights and benefits obtained under one of Canada's oldest comprehensive land claim agreements. With assets over $1 billion, not including vast land holdings, IRC is responsible for corporate investment, land management, and a broad range of social, cultural, and economic programs and services benefiting Inuvialuit. JOB SUMMARY


We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as an Assistant Manager.


Specific responsibilities include data entry for payroll, revenue, and accounts receivables, as well as general filing tasks. The Assistant Manager will also assist in managing front desk tasks.


Under the guidance of the Hotel Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the overall operations and management of the hotel. This involves overseeing day-to-day activities, managing staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, and collaborating with various departments to maintain high-quality standards.


In addition to these operational responsibilities, the Assistant Manager will handle specific tasks crucial to the hotel's efficiency, including data entry for payroll, revenue, and accounts receivables, general filing tasks, as well as actively managing front desk operations.


The successful candidate will contribute to creating a positive work environment, driving revenue growth, and upholding the hotel's commitment to excellence, and serves at the acting manager in the Hotel Manager’s absence.


This is a full-time casual position.


QUALIFICATIONS


Applicants must be/have:


  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the following shifts. Shifts may include 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and weekends.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Must work well with the public and be a people person.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and achieve financial goals.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office suite.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:


  • Previous experience in hotel management or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of the restaurant and/or hotel industry is a significant asset.
