What You'll Do
- Ensuring Scotiabank's trade and transaction reporting activities are in compliance with governing regulations and business requirements in all areas Scotiabank operates (MIFID 2, IIROC, CAT, SFTR)
- Identifying and escalating reporting breaks through daily reconciliation controls.
- Preparing management reports and dashboards for all levels of management.
- Remediating reporting breaks and enhancing controls in partnership with stakeholders. Internal and external stakeholders include Operational Risk Oversight, Technology and Trade Repositories.
- Building and maintaining Subject Matter Expertise by understanding regulatory reporting requirements and knowledge of regulatory reporting/reporting logic across all jurisdictions
- Analyzing the impact of regulatory changes and supporting the necessary changes to internal reporting, reconciliation, and other control processes
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams within GWO to prioritize effort to ensure that regulatory reporting obligations are met in all jurisdictions.
- Actively participating and contributing in change management projects/initiatives to ensure that regulatory reporting requirements are working with adequate controls and appropriate metrics are incorporated into the KPI/KRI risk management platform
- Continuously reviewing current processes and identifies opportunities for improvements to promote efficient and effective oversight processes.
- Creating and maintaining policies and procedure documents.
What You'll Bring
- University degree
- Financial services industry experience, preferably working in Regulatory Reporting Operations
- Business analysis skills and understanding of project lifecycle. This includes scope definition, business case development, requirements gathering, test script development, deployment, and implementation assistance.
- Experience in running daily controls including knowledge of escalation, remediation, and management reporting.
- Good understanding of the Trade Life cycle and various products such as Equity, Bonds, Derivatives etc.
- Knowledge of reporting requirements/reporting logic for various regimes (MIFID 2, IIROC, SFTR, CAT) would be an asset.
- Strong Technical skills: Power BI, Tableau, Data Structure, Documentation and VBA
Work Arrangement: This position is currently a Hybrid role. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
