Department OverviewTD Asset Management (TDAM), a member of TD Bank Financial Group, is a leading North American investment manager offering progressive investment solutions to both institutional and individual investors. For over two decades, the organization has established competitive market positions in active, quantitative, and passive portfolio management. As of March 31, 2023, TDAM and its affiliates manage over $421 billion in assets on behalf of pension, insurance, endowment/foundation, and corporate clients, as well as high-net worth clients and retail mutual funds.
In attaining this client commitment, TDAM has built one of Canada's largest and most respected investment management and research teams with more than 220 Portfolio Managers, Associate Portfolio Managers, Traders and Analysts. Job DetailsTD Asset Management's Asset Allocation team is composed of portfolio managers and analysts responsible for the management of ~$100 billion in assets of global multi-asset portfolios. The team designs and manages portfolio solutions to help retail, high net worth and institutional clients achieve their investment goals. The Asset Allocation team follows a disciplined top-down and bottom-up investment process that leverages quantitative and qualitative analysis to deliver investment excellence through macro-economic and investment analysis, strategic portfolio design and tactical management across asset classes such as global fixed income, equities, derivatives and alternatives.
The Associate will focus on Asset Allocation Research and have exposure to a wide range of research topics, including macroeconomic trends across different regions, dynamics across different asset classes, sectors and industries. The Associate will also have the opportunity to interact with portfolio managers and have an impact on client portfolios with research outputs. A successful candidate should be enthusiastic about global markets, intellectually curious and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment. Job Requirements
  • Graduate degree in a quantitative field. Mathematics/Statistics, Engineering, Machine Learning and Data Science majors are preferred
  • Working towards Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
  • Work experience in investment analysis, trading, research or financial modelling with economics and statistics
  • Solid understanding of macroeconomics, financial markets, trading strategies, asset pricing, portfolio construction and risk analytics
  • Experience in derivatives is preferred
  • Strong programming skills. Must have: Python/R, SQL.
  • Excellent attention to details, high level of intellectual curiosity and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively explain complex topics
  • Strong work ethics and interpersonal skills
