Purpose:
Global Capital Markets (GCM) Banking is responsible for the profitable performance and acceptable risk profile of the portfolio of GBM Financial Institutions targets and relationships. The Associate will work with business units within Global Banking Markets (GBM) to manage a portfolio of Financial Institutions account relationships.

What You'll Do:

• The preparation of credit presentations, including new clients, annual reviews and other credit related requests for the portfolio submitted to Global Risk Management and other internal Bank approval groups;
• Working with other associates / associate directors, and marketers/product teams on a portfolio of financial institution clients, including CLOs, money center banks, hedge funds, asset managers, broker dealers, governments, central banks/SSAs, central clearers/depositories and other clients of GCM. Team members within the group are the primary service contacts for the onboarding, credit execution and maintenance of these client relationships;
• Client contact - Initial due diligence / onboarding (where applicable) and ongoing monitoring of a portfolio of accounts;
• The oversight of the negotiation and review of documentation for related transactions and onboarding of accounts for BNS (multiple branches), SCI, and SCUSA;
• The Associate will be responsible for monitoring industry developments and supporting new business products / initiatives as required;
• Will liaise with GRM, CCR, MRM, Legal, Tax, Finance, Compliance, GWS, Documentation, and other GBM Execution teams;
• The job will expose the incumbent to various aspects of the derivative, foreign exchange, precious metals, fixed income and equity business of GCM, and exposure to new business growth areas.

What You'll Bring:

• Undergraduate level degree in Business or related field
• MBA or CFA designation an asset, but not required.
• 3-5 years of related Banking experience in a credit related role an asset.
• Strong knowledge of credit and lending practices
• Thorough understanding of derivative products in relation to their credit risk. Familiarity with ISDA/CSA an ass
• Highly proficient with Excel, Access, other database tools
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to prioritize and achieve deadlines

Work Arrangement:

This position is currently an On Site role, with the expectation that you will work three days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
