As an Associate Investment Advisor, you have the opportunity to:

  • Identify new business opportunities to acquire additional assets and increase revenue
  • Receive financial and business development training
  • Learn in depth knowledge of products and services to provide strategies and solutions for the existing client base
  • Ensure investment recommendations are suitable and align with client’s financial goals, objectives and risk tolerance
  • Establish and develop strong client relationships by understanding their financial situation and objectives
  • Provide clients with excellent wealth management solutions to help achieve their goals and materialize their vision
  • Take advantage of various prospecting channels to consistently grow your financial services practice
  • Combine building your own book of business with a competitive income structure

You will receive training on providing a high level of client service by:

  • Preparing, analyzing, and presenting reports and recommendations
  • Assist the advisor in developing investment plans, client communications and marketing pieces
  • Respond to client requests, inquiries, and concerns promptly and efficiently
  • Offer clients sound investment advice that align with their investment objectives
  • Adhere to regulatory policies by staying up to date with all industry rulings and policies
  • Ensure all client interactions are accurately documented

You can manage the effective functioning of your practice by:

  • Regularly review systems to ensure administrative processes are streamlined
  • Build effective working relationships across the team and with corporate head office
  • Maintain a high level of client service
  • Facilitate a culture of open and honest communication
  • Share knowledge and experience to enhance the development of all team members
  • Exhibit commitment to grow into a highly trained advisor

Educational Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Finance or Business related studies is an asset
  • Demonstrate leadership and a strong self-image, while working both independently as well as in teams
  • Success driven with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Understanding of industry and firm compliance regulations
  • Applicable licensing/designations will be required by completion of the training program --- Canadian Securities Course (CSC) / Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH)

Working conditions

The role operates within a standard office environment which includes in office and remote work. Seminars and client/prospect events are often held in the evening which may require a longer than usual working day. The office is a fast paced often high stress environment often with conflicting demands.
