We are currently seeking an Associate Lawyer / Tax Senior Manager to join our team to collaborate on challenging compensation tax consulting engagements for a diverse client base. EY's Tax- People Advisory Services helps clients develop relevant and flexible tax-compliant remuneration, benefit, pension and incentive programs. Our multi-disciplinary integrated team of lawyers, actuaries, human resource, and tax professionals provide specialized services in the areas of pensions, benefits, HR, tax and compensation.
Your key responsibilities
As an Associate Lawyer / Tax Senior Manager, you will provide tax advice related to the review, design and implementation of executive compensation plans, pension, bonus plans, and other cash or share-based incentive plans, and consult on employee mobility issues. You will work with the existing Canadian compensation tax team, as well as with EY's global network of compensation professionals.

- You will contribute to the growth and maintenance of ongoing client relationships and participate in business development and marketing activities.
To qualify for the role you must have
- A bachelor's degree with a graduate degree and/or professional designation preferred (LL.B. or CPA)
- Minimum 7 years of tax experience or general compensation plan design and consulting, with 3-5 years of experience assessing the tax implications of compensation packages or other incentive programs
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to apply these skills to a new environment and new projects
- Strong tax research and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ideally, you'll also have
- US Tax experience is an asset but not a requirement
- The ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment
