Are you committed to protecting your community? Blackbird Security is seeking to hire AST - Tactical Security Guards (Advanced Security Training Mandatory - authorized to use batons) in Downtown Vancouver, BC for retail sites.

What you will do

• Prevent shoplifter theft by establishing a strong security presence.
• Provide excellent customer service to our clients, customers and patrons
• Arrest and/ or detain shoplifters.
• Escort trespassers away from client premises
• Perform safety and security duties with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity
• Complete incident reports for security purposes
• Respond to emergencies and escalate to law enforcement agencies as required
• Quickly respond to security and safety violations, property damage and alarms.

The Ideal Candidate

• A Valid Security License
• A Valid Advanced Security Training Certificate
• Knowledge of the 5 steps to apprehend shoplifters
• Experience with arrests and detainments
• Retail security experience.
• Customer service experience
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to attend meetings and improve skills
• Ability to work without close supervision
• Must be willing and comfortable to stand and patrol for the duration of the shift

Salary: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

• Canadian Security: 1 year (required)

Language:

• English (required)

Licence/Certification:

• Security Guard Licence (required)
• Advanced Security Training? (Can carry handcuffs in BC?) (required)
