Baking Assistant

*Job Description: Kitchen Help / Baker / Grill Cook** **Position Overview:** We are currently seeking a mature university student with previous experience in a high-paced environment to join our team as Kitchen Help, Baker, and Grill Cook. The ideal candidate will assist in various kitchen tasks, including baking, grilling, and general kitchen duties, contributing to the smooth operation of our establishment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Assist with baking a variety of products, including bread, pastries, and desserts, following recipes and quality standards. - Operate grill and other kitchen equipment efficiently and safely to prepare food items. - Support the kitchen team in food preparation, cooking, and assembly during peak hours. - Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including equipment, workstations, and storage areas. - Assist with inventory management, including receiving, storing, and rotating ingredients and supplies. - Provide assistance to the front of house team during busy periods, including taking orders and serving customers. - Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards, as well as company policies and procedures. - Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive and efficient work environment. **Qualifications:** - Previous experience in a high-paced kitchen environment is required. - Baking experience will be a significant asset. - Must be a mature university student with the ability to work responsibly and independently. - Availability to work approximately 40 hours per week, including Saturdays, Sundays, and early evenings. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. - Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. - Must have own transportation, as the location is outside of public transport boundaries. - Previous references from employers or supervisors are required. - Wage will be determined based on experience. **Benefits:** - Competitive wages based on experience. - Positive and supportive work environment. - Employee discounts on food and beverages. **How to Apply:** Interested candidates who meet the above qualifications are encouraged to submit their resume along with references via email to kawarthasweetsandeats@gmail.com or in person at 17 Indacom Drive Lakefield (Douro).
