Scope
The City of Surrey is looking for an enthusiastic, and creative Ballet Instructor at Clayton Community Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging performing art professional. You will be able to support and create a vibrant and welcoming environment for visitors to learn and engage with performing arts at Clayton Community Centre. You will be part of a creative and interdisciplinary team responsible for implementing performing arts, visual arts, woodworking, and artist in residence programs. The team will catalyze the potential of the arts to benefit the health and wellbeing of the Clayton community. Responsibilities
    • Develop and execute age-appropriate ballet activities that align with the participants' skill levels and developmental stages. • Facilitate an engaging and educational ballet experience, emphasizing both technique and artistic expression, while maintaining a secure and inclusive atmosphere. • Ensure the readiness of the ballet program, including organizing equipment, preparing supplies, crafting detailed lesson plans, and maintaining accurate attendance records. • Provide constructive feedback to students, fostering a positive learning environment, and building their confidence in ballet skills and artistry. • Effectively communicate with parents and participants, sharing clear objectives, expectations, and rules. • Infuse energy, creativity, and serve as a positive role model for the young dancers, inspiring a passion for ballet. • Establish and implement structured routines that cater to students with diverse skill levels, tailoring instruction to accommodate varying degrees of proficiency in ballet techniques.
Qualifications
    • Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C with AED certification. • Excellent leadership, organizational and customer service skills. • Minimum of 1 year experience as a ballet Instructor. • Reliable, patient, enthusiastic and enjoy working with people and children of all ages.
Other Information
Hourly Rate: $ 21.50
Conditions of Employment
This position requires completion of a Police Information Check.
