Job Summary

Within the Ministry of Finance,Provincial Treasury (PT) is one of the largest financial institutions and debt managers in Western Canada, and the largest public sector insurer in Canada. PT provides debt management, corporate and project finance, banking, cash management, security and risk management services to government, government bodies and other authorized organizations.The Debt Management Branch (DMB) provides centralized liability management services to the government and its Crown corporations and agencies. Its mandate is to manage the debt liabilities of the province to be at the lowest long-run cost without taking on undue risk.
The Business Project Analyst works closely with the Business Project Manager, Contractors, and the Information Services Branch and provides support in business design, implementation, maintenance, and enhancements on various projects for the DMB. This position proactively addresses business system issues related to branch expansion and makes recommendations to the Business Project Manager and senior management.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, computer science or a related field, and a minimum two (2) years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related experience includes:
  • Experience working in the Canadian banking industry, debt management, financial risk management and/or capital markets.
  • Experience providing service analysis and oversight or business analysis on financial or information technology projects.
  • Experience preparing a variety of professional documents such as business procedures, operational requirements, etc.
  • Experience analyzing information, synthesizing data and making recommendations.

Preference may be given to applicants with:
  • Experience working with debt management or treasury systems such as ION Wall Street System.
  • Additional years of related experience.
