NATURE & SCOPE
Educators are required to provide professional, high quality play-based licensed Child Care programs that meet the
developmental needs of children 0 - 12 years of age. Educators are responsible for developing and implementing a program
based on the YMCA Playing to Learn Curriculum, while adhering to established YMCA policies and procedures and quality
standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Responsible for the care and safety of the children-
Organize and implement activities for the group as outlined in the weekly program plans, including
components required by the curriculum-
Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all parents, children and fellow team members-
Provide feedback to parents regarding their children-
Responsible for the physical condition of the Child Care Centre-
Participate in training and adhere to the YMCA Child Protection Policies and Procedures as established
by the YMCA of Niagara and SAM 2.1-
Follow the protocols for maintaining a clean and safe workplace, including proper procedures for
cleaning and disinfecting

Rotational Health Screening responsibilities-
Occasional evening and weekend trainings/meetings, attendance will be mandatory-
Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:-
Minimum of 2 years licensed Child Care experience would be an asset-
Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification-
A clear and satisfactory criminal reference check inclusive of the vulnerable sector search (CRC VSS)
issued for the YMCA of Niagara
