The Role:

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, the Guest Services Manager will be responsible for providing leadership to the bell desk and Valet teams. We are looking for a dynamic leader who is excited about change and developing an engaging team. The successful incumbent will support an Authentically Canadian arrival experience that exceeds our Autograph Standards, fostering a culture where all employees are empowered to provide our guests any services they request. They will uphold an atmosphere of contagious learning and job fulfillment in support of our employee engagement goals.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for overseeing our Guest Services (bell desk) and Valet team.
• Ensuring the highest levels of guest service exceeding the expectations of our guests in order to build loyalty and create word of mouth business.
• Ensuring that hotel and company standards are met and exceeded for all positions within the Bell and Valet teams.
• To anticipate and follow up promptly on the guests' requirements and to make sure that all their concerns are being resolved.
• Knowledgeable of the Hotel, its layout, services and all emergency and safety procedures.
• Coach and mentor to all Guest Services team members by creating an environment of contagious learning, job fulfillment, which provides a path for career development with Pomeroy Lodging.
• Develop close and effective working relationships with all supporting departments, achieving success through the collective knowledge and participation of all employees.
• Promote a safe and healthy working environment by being a ‘safety-minded leader at large’ who leads by example in reporting any safety issues, by maintaining and reporting deficiencies throughout the hotel.

Employment Experience and Educational Requirements:

• Have been in a supervisory position within hospitality for a minimum of 2 years, with a background in Front Office/Guest Services operations.
• A degree in hospitality management is preferred.
• High attention to detail with the ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment.
• Have strong communication and excellent organizational skills.
• Have exceptional interpersonal communication skills and should be totally customer centric.
• Computer literacy is imperative, ideally with Windows, MS Word & Excel, Opera, and Internet.
• Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods of time and lift up to 30lbs.
• Knowledge of Kananaskis, the Canadian Rockies, Alberta, and all we have to offer is an asset.
• Excellent grooming and professional presentation.
• Must be able to work varied shifts; weekends, holidays and evenings.
• A valid class 4 Alberta driver’s license is required (or able to be obtained within 3 months of employment)
