GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

A Full Cycle Bike Builder is responsible for safely and efficiently building all bikes with impeccable attention to detail. They will be working in a fast-paced environment and need to be able to stay on task to ensure that bikes are being built on schedule.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Building bikes received from the manufacturer for display on the sales floor and for pickup by customers
• Ensuring excellent attention to detail for the safety and proper operation of the bike
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of their work area and the backshop

MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reporting any damage to the bikes being built to the Backshop Manager
• Participating in maintaining a safe work environment at all times
• Helping with minor repairs such as shift/brake adjustments and tube/tire replacements as directed by the backshop manager

EXPERIENCE

• Previous bike building experience an asset
• Experience working on bikes in a home environment could be considered an asset

KEY COMPETENCIES

• Strong oral and written skills in English (required) and French (preferred)
• Excellent attention to detail
• Basic understanding of bike parts and how they work
• Computer literate
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for bikes is a must

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Able to lift up to 50lbs
• Able to stand for long periods of time

COMPENSATION

• Part time, $19.60+ per hour. Compensation will take into consideration previous work experience, years of service, etc. The next step for this role would be to move into a Tent Associate or Junior Mechanic position.
