Bilingual Payroll Supervisor – $90,000 to 95,000.00 – Lachine, QC - Hybrid
Canadian and U.S. Payroll experience
Our client, a large successful company, that continues to grow is looking for a Payroll Supervisor who will work closely with the Payroll Manager and manage a great team.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and lead payroll team members, overseeing the day-to-day tasks; fill in for the Manager as needed.
- Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements.
- Coordinate and process payroll in a timely manner ensuring the integrity of payroll data.
- Implement, maintain, and review data processing systems regarding payroll transactions.
- Prepare and review payroll account reconciliations.
- Escalate potential service issues to Payroll Manager.
- Manage payroll garnishments, ensure deductions are computed properly, and complete processing accurately.
- Analyze payroll problems and provide appropriate resolutions.
- Perform reconciliation of group insurance benefits.
- Complete statistical reports, statements and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts and submit them to appropriate departments.
- Assist in the preparation of year end processing related reporting.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Provide assistance and payroll information to unionized and non-unionized employees.
- Analyze payroll problems and provide appropriate resolutions.
- Awareness of legislation and payroll procedures relating to Canada and the U.S.
- International countries: UK, Germany is an asset but not required.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be Bilingual (French)
- 5 years + payroll experience in a leadership capacity
- Canada and US payroll experience
- CPP – Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred
- Knowledge of Payroll systems such as ADP and Ceridian Dayforce (bi-weekly & monthly frequency)
- Intermediate to advanced excel skills
- Flexible to adapt to a high volume, busy environment
- Good knowledge of rules and regulations regarding North America payroll standards
- Review and improve payroll policies and procedures
- Able to maintain a positive attitude, professionalism and composure during busy times
- Ability to motivate, develop and lead staff
