Bindery Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a full timeEXPERIENCED BINDERY OPERATOR with a drive for excellence in quality and further complemented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The qualified Bindery Operator will be a dedicated team player who is able to work independently. Must be detailed oriented, have a strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to handle numerous and varied tasks simultaneously.

Major Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate a variety of sheet-fed bindery equipment such as Stahl Folders, Polar Cutter, Easy Matrix Die Cutter and a ST-100 Stitcher
• Interpret docket information, instructions, layouts, etc.
• Adhere to production schedules
• Organize, plan and prioritize work
• Perform quality control checks continually throughout the processing of products
• Check work against layouts, proofs, and docket information
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure the maintenance and upkeep of workstations and bindery equipment
• Perform safety inspections on equipment
• Troubleshoot and perform adjustments as needed
• This position also offers and requires the ability to work overtime when needed

Qualifications, Requirements. Physical Demands:

• Good working knowledge of the Bindery Department and its role within the company
• Ability to set up and operator bindery equipment independently
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment
• Ability to work well with co-workers in a team environment
• Lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds
• Preferred lift and pallet truck certifications
• Repetitive tasks, manual dexterity, and attention to detail
• Standing and walking for prolonged period of time for up to 8 hours or more a day
• Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
