Algonquin Outfitters is looking for Boat Operators at our Lake Opeongo location in Algonquin Park for the 2024 season. The Boat Operator position is for people who enjoy being on the water and like exciting, high-energy jobs. These seasonal positions have start dates in May and June and end dates in September and October.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to our excellent customer service standard.
• Load and unload water taxi boats. Able to lift 50lbs.
• Safely transport customers to a portage or campsite in all weather conditions.
• Offer advice and answer questions about Algonquin Park and Lake Opeongo.
• Clean boats daily and ensure all safety equipment is on board.
• Assist in canoe rentals from the store when not driving boats.
• Accurately complete all paperwork related to rentals and water taxis.
• Manage time and tasks without supervision.
• Assist with store opening and closing procedures.

Requested Skills

• Standard First Aid
• Pleasure Craft Operators Card (not required if you possess SVOP certificate)
• Boating experience is an asset.
• SVOP Certification is an asset.
• Knowledge and passion for the outdoors.
• Strong work ethic.

We need someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can multitask & prioritize, follow through thoroughly on tasks with little supervision, and has a high standard of quality in all that they do. And it goes without saying that in the retail world, we are open on weekends and some holidays, so we need our associates to be willing to work these hours.
