Book Keeper

At Evening Cove Oysters we are a dynamic aquaculture business serving our clients in fresh and innovative ways. We are excited to add an on-site bookkeeper to our team to work alongside our remote-based accounting team.

We are looking for an energetic individual who is willing to join our growing business. Ideally, someone who is personable, has an eye for improving processes, adapts and facilitates changes in the role and work environment and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities of this position include:

• Greet and welcome visitors in a professional and friendly manner
• Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and provide information to callers
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including A/P, A/R
• Perform basic bookkeeping tasks
• Administer payroll and benefits
• Perform data entry tasks to update and maintain records
• Order office supplies and maintain inventory
• Manage office filing systems and maintain organized records
• Other duties and responsibilities as required

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience using Xero accounting software
• Microsoft Excel
• Meticulously detail-oriented but able to adapt to changing priorities
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Work well as a team, independently and with minimal supervision

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Salary: $22.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
