INTRODUCTION:

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.


We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR
:

  • Answer all calls and inquires about march outs, while answering military phone with a courteous and clear approach
  • Coordinate with course directors and OPI’s to book march out’s accordingly and promptly
  • Receive emails for march outs, check calendar to ensure it does not conflict with another appointment
  • Ensure all March Out, Room & Building moves are noted and tracked properly in the calendar for R&QSS members to verify march out with guest portfolios when required
  • Complete reports on march outs and other items concerning bookings and rooms in the quarters may be required and allocated for you to input, track or record. Be prepared to do so and ensure all information is inputted accurate
  • Assist barrack wardens with common issues that may occur during March Outs

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess excellent communication skill directly dealing with staff and students
  • Read and understand R&QSS SOPs, Single Quarters Occupancy regulations and have a broad knowledge of DND security, Fire and Safety and Privacy regulations
  • As required, all Policy’s, Safety and SOP boards’ paperwork will be updated and printed out as per direction. If signatures are required they will be obtained and once complete it will be given to the Barrack Warden Supervisor or 2 I/C to put copies in each building.
  • Stay up to date on policies and procedures when handling maintenance issues, building issues and isolation policies
  • Proficient with Windows computers and an operating system of Microsoft 365 and Outlook
  • Proficient when using InnQuest software’s (Specifically Room Master)
  • Coordinate with the barrack warden supervisor or 2IC Barrack Warden for March Out scheduling
  • Connecting with allocation employee’s to ensure accuracy of march out’s and obtaining course load lists
  • Ensure post is manned from Monday- Friday 0700hrs-1530hrs

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma
  • *MUST* Ontario Security Guard License
  • *MUST* Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time
  • *MUST* have the ability to obtain security clearance (resident in Canada 5 years or longer, clean record, clean credit history)
  • Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently), ability to speak French is consider an asset

Hourly Rate of Pay: $22.51

Location: CFB Borden, Borden, ON

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 0700 - 1530hrs
