Bookkeeper
Alvin Reinhard Fritz Architecture Inc. (ARFAi) is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the company.
This position is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, data entry and basic accounting requirements for the firm utilizing Sage and Ajera accounting software. This bookkeeper also prepares reports on the program’s financial activities utilizing Ajera as well as the required information for the annual financial audit or review. Additionally, this position provides administrative support to Project Delivery Managers, Senior Architect and staff as required.
Duties and Responsibilities in this role:
- Perform accounts payable.
- Ensure all financial information is received in a timely manner.
- Accurate and prompt posting of all financial transactions to the journal in compliance with ARFAi policies and procedures.
- Process monthly payroll and remit source deductions.
- Add new employees to the benefits program.
- Perform necessary account, bank and other reconciliations.
- Prepare for annual financial review/audit and communicate with auditors.
- File GST remittances.
- Process invoices by reviewing contracts with clients for billing and using appropriate job costing.
- Invoices and contracts to be coordinated with Project Delivery Managers & Senior Architect.
- Maintain filing system.
- Data entry as required.
- Work closely with the Senior Architect to provide the necessary support for their training and administrative tasks as required.
Application Requirements
The following requirements must be met by an applicant in order to be considered for the position:
- Completion of a two-year diploma in Business Administration (accounting emphasis) or related field of study, or suitable combination of formal education and experience.
- 2+ years bookkeeping experience.
- Fundamental understanding in all facets of accounting.
- Recent experience and skill in computer use utilizing Sage and Ajera.
- Recent experience and skill in computer use, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organization, time-management and administrative skills.
- Advanced written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively and in a team environment.
