Fire & Flood Emergency Services Ltd. is looking for a 45 Ton Picker Operator / Equipment Operator that can travel, rig up, set up for lifts, and service and operate the hoist and swing equipment used to move equipment, materials and other large objects for our operation and when required work along side our Task Force Members in emergencies.

Requirements

• Clean Class 1 driver's license
• Air brake endorsement
• Picker operator certification
• (2) years Picker Operating Experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
• Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities
• Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
• High level of personal integrity
• Strong work ethic
• Mechanically inclined.
• Maintain a high level of physical fitness.
• Professional/mature demeanour under stressful situations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Confident, consistent decisive personality
• Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
• Hi Rail experience, is considered an asset, but willing to train
• Winch Truck experience, is considered an asset.
• Proficient with Microsoft and various phone apps.
• Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude under stressful conditions for extended periods of time.
• Ability to take directions and apply them on time.
• Must be a strong team player, and able to work alone.
• Be reliable and responsible.
• Firefighting (wildland), or water transfer experience would be considered an asset.
• Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing, Fitness and Audiomedric testing required.

Work Conditions

In our industry nothing is guaranteed. There is a potential for high-risk work environments. Hot and Cold. Wet or Dry. Day or night. You must be willing and prepared to work in any situation. We work a 15 on, 6 off schedule year-round, often away from home for extended periods. In our industry nothing is guaranteed. There is a potential for high-risk work environments. Hot and Cold. Wet or Dry. Day or night. You must be willing and prepared to work in any situation. While on shift you are expected to be fit, prepared, and able to work at all hours. Duties will include shop, training, and field duties for those 15 days. As a specialized company, working with patented technology, you will be expected to learn and prove competence. You will be trained in safe operation of equipment ranging from skid steers, quads, engines, etc required for the job. You will be trained in the safe and efficient use of large and small pumps, as well as performing routine maintenance. As well you will also be trained in FireTack and the use of our equipment for both fire and flood response.
