Position Title: British Columbia Land Surveyor

Status: Full Time, Permanent

Location: North Vancouver, BC

Spitfire Drone Survey is seeking a commissioned British Columbia Land Surveyor (BCLS) to join our team in our North Vancouver office. We are a small survey company with a focus on aerial surveys for construction, civil engineering, environmental and architectural consultants. We work together and provide survey support for our affiliated company North Construction, a heavy civil construction company that is passionate about innovation and adopting the latest technology. Our goal is to expand the business to include legal surveys to provide full service for our clients.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Prepare and certify legal survey plans meeting the standards and rules of the profession.

· Review and certify plans with survey data collected by a Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems according to municipal standards.

· Demonstrate initiative in business development.

· Provide mentoring and articling of employees seeking a BCLS commission.

· Perform various field surveys including but not limited to legal, topographic and construction layout and as-constructed surveys.

· Communicate effectively with internal project managers, superintendents, and clients.

· Prepare work plans, project estimates, and schedules in a formal tender process or informally through direct communication of scope with clients.

· Perform quality control review from the field to the production of survey drawings.

· Generate earthworks volumes for construction progress billings.

· Build models from civil design drawings for construction layout.

· Create earthworks designs, generate material volumes, and produce professional technical drawings.

Qualifications:

· Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an ambitious and positive attitude.

· Must be a practicing BCLS, with at least 3 years of experience on various survey projects. Alternatively, the candidate must be a Professional Land Surveyor from another province eligible to register with the ABCLS.

· Experience with Civil3D, Trimble Business Centre, Global Mapper, LP360 or Virtual Surveyor software is an asset.

· Willing to travel throughout the Lower Mainland and BC for work.

· Physical ability to hike in challenging and steep terrain in inclement weather.
