Position Overview

The Bulk Haul Operator is integral to the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of hydrocarbon products to North Atlantic's valued customers. Exceptional customer service is a cornerstone of this role, ensuring a positive experience throughout the delivery process.

The Operator maintains a commitment to safety in all activities and operations, adhering to Federal, Provincial Regulations, Standards & Codes, and North Atlantic's policies and procedures for the secure delivery of dangerous goods.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Load various hydrocarbon products, including Clear Diesel, Dyed Diesel, Marine Diesel, Gasoline, Jet A1, Furnace Oil, and propane, into trailers, adhering to all safety policies, procedures, and government regulations.
  • Operate the truck and fuel trailers safely and efficiently, representing North Atlantic in a professional manner.
  • Accurate count of fuel transactions and maintaining fuel balance.
  • Complete pre/post-trip inspections and manage electronic hours of service logs in accordance with government standards.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with dispatch to adjust and manage plans for route and order efficiencies.
  • Follow delivery procedures at various customer sites and locations.
  • Deliver product to North Atlantic’s client base in a timely fashion within a designated area.
  • Other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the company’s success.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of professional driving experience with a valid Class 1 driver’s license with 9 or 9A endorsement.
  • Two plus years of petroleum or propane experience is considered an asset.
  • Verified safe driving background is essential.
  • Current loading privileges at Irving St. John’s, Imperial Corner Brook or North Atlantic Come by Chance truck loading racks are consider a strong asset.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs of material and equipment.
  • Ability to work in outdoor adverse conditions.
  • Work under minimal supervision, independently or as part of a team.
  • Comfortable with onboard computer technology.
  • Keen attention to detail with a customer focus.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Current class 1 license in good standing.
  • Clean Drivers Abstract.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical along with randomized drug and alcohol testing.
