Job Brief

In this role the Business Development Specialist – Hydrogen & Wind will identify and develop new business opportunities in the energy marketplace with a focus on green hydrogen and wind projects across Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new relationships with customers and engineers working in the wind and green hydrogen energy markets
  • Evaluate core supplier’s offerings and position their product in customer’s projects.
  • Seek out emerging technologies and products that will enhance our offerings.
  • Devise strategies and techniques to achieve growth targets
  • Create and provide presentations to boost the company's sales opportunities in all facets of our energy business.
  • Review customer specifications and designs.
  • Participate in training sessions, trade shows and sales meetings as required.
  • Work with customers in other energy verticals as requested.
  • Identify, negotiate and close opportunities through deep understanding of the customer’s needs
  • Provide ongoing project status updates with all parties throughout design

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree or Diploma in an engineering or energy field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in energy market desired.
  • An understanding of green hydrogen and wind technologies.
  • A track record delivering sales growth and experience of negotiating high value equipment supply contracts.
  • In-depth knowledge of operational processes, technology and people management techniques.
  • Knowledge of Commercial/contract law.
  • Proven experience in conflict resolution skills and effective negotiating skills.
  • Production to support deliveries and resolve issues that may arise.
  • Strong time management, reporting, prioritization and follow-up skills.
  • Strong computer software skills (word and excel), combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Travel will be required.
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Lifting or moving up to 10lbs
